What historical sources support
The 1993 video was directed by Sophie Muller. Björk described a connection to Bataille’s Story of the Eye; a contemporary interview mentions her Vegvísir tattoo.
What the viewer brings to the image
Sixes, 666, a ship and compass, lux–LuCia, Marian iconography and a “cylindrical UFO” are possible creative readings, not proven intentions of the filmmakers.

The 6–6–6 hypothesis
Six rails versus five gaps · 03 →Six metal rails over an eye? Six dots by other eyes? The viewer can interpret the repeated forms as 666, referencing Revelation. Yet the dot-group boundaries are ambiguous, and the utensil’s five gaps should not be confused with its six rails.
“666” is a viewer hypothesis, not an authenticated cipher left by the creators.
THEMES / CONNECTIONS
Three interwoven motifs
Sensuality and the act of seeing meet. The eye and egg pairing has direct support in a historical interview about the video.
The sailing ship and the Vegvísir offer a navigation metaphor. A deliberate connection between them is unconfirmed.
A long kitchen lamp illuminates the set; lux, Logos, LuCia and UFO are poetic verbal or visual interpretations.

Method, rights and sources
Original crops are preserved unchanged. Enlargements use ordinary transforms of the same pixels, with no objects generated by AI. Blur limits conclusions. The child’s identity, painted-art provenance and any secret authorial intent are not asserted.
These excerpts from the music video remain copyrighted. They accompany criticism and do not replace the original video; the legal status of reproduction can depend on jurisdiction.
